Watershed Hedge Fund Investment
From its headquarters in San Francisco, California, Watershed Hedge Funds, also known as Watershed Asset Management functions by one simple rule: to seek consistent returns by investing in situations which are undergoing change. By working and living by that motto, Watershed has become a leader in endowment investments, foundation investments as well as discretionary capital for institutional investors. While there are some investments in developed international markets, Watershed generally deals with domestic assets in the United States including public securities and direct debt equity investments.
Watershed was founded and is still run by 50 year old Meridee Moore. Moore is considered the dragon lady when it comes to commodity training. Although Meridee Moore has only been in the commodity trading business for as little as 14 years, she has proven to be a tiger in the investment world with a keen eye for business. After being a Managing Member of Farallon Capital Management LLC, Moore left Farallon and started Watershed. Currently, Watershed successfully manages $1.3 billion in discretionary investments. This capital is also shared by institutional investors, primary endowments and varying foundations.
Watershed Hedge Funds continues to achieve success because of its unconventional way of investing. Watershed invests in finances in situations that are not financed efficiently, or mispriced because they are misunderstood, or are undergoing significant change. Because of these investments, they are able to get top dollar for their investments, which have proven successful time and time again for Watershed’s investors. This type of investment continues to work well both domestically and internationally in developed overseas markets.
When Meridee Moore is not in the office, making you and your company millions of dollars, she is actively involved in organizations surrounding the greater San Francisco, California area. Moore donates her time and energy to such charities and causes as Right to Play Incorporated, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco, North Star Capital Investment Corporation and AMF Bowling Worldwide Incorporated. Moore is the mother to three children and lives with her husband in San Francisco.
